Chapter 2: Footprints in the Path

The forest grew quiet as Melfort Bear padded along the path. The trees leaned close together, and the air felt cooler under their branches. Suddenly, he noticed something unusual on the ground: glowing footprints!

They shimmered faintly in the twilight, as though someone had painted them with starlight. They were far too small for a deer, and far too big for a rabbit. Who could have left them?

Melfort Bear crouched down to sniff them. They smelled faintly of autumn leaves and… something mysterious.

Solve the riddle to find out who made the footprints. I fly at night, I don’t make a peep. I hang upside down when I sleep. Who am I?
