"We had a great …week’s stay at Melfort Village via a RCI timeshare exchange. Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming both to us and to our little dog, who even had his own welcome pack in the accommodation. Our cottage (Walled Garden 4) was very comfortable and extremely well equipped throughout with everything we needed and with a fantastic view of the loch. The village itself has good facilities, including indoor pool, children’s play areas, tennis, putting green, also indoor activities for rainy days. We did appreciate the onsite bar/restaurant (also dog-friendly) and the dog exercise paddock. The village’s setting is beautiful; however it is quite a remote location, so I would say a car is essential to make the most of your stay. There are some good walks nearby, some beginning at the village itself and many within a short drive. We particularly enjoyed Avich Falls and Barnaline Oakwoods, Craobh Haven to Ardfern and Craignish Point walks, also a day exploring Oban."
