Garden Cottage

This single storey cottage was formerly the old potting shed, then the Estate Office and now is an idyllic cottage, situated in a secluded position in its own garden ground at the south-western end of the Village.

Garden Cottage is particularly popular due to its delightful mature garden with outdoor seating.  The secure garden is a haven for wildlife. 

Cottage Features

The front door leads into a long hallway (with coat hanging space) with all rooms opening off. In walk order you are led to the shower room (with shower cubicle, wc & basin); large open-plan kitchen/dining area (with oven, hob, fridge with ice-box, microwave, dishwasher & coffee pod machine); spacious sitting room with large windows enjoying fabulous views over the gardens and village (equipped with open fire, a double sofa bed for occasional guests, CTV, DVD), well-appointed double bedroom; generous twin bedroom; bathroom (with bath, over bath electric shower, wc & basin).

Outside there is a mature private garden for you to enjoy which is a haven for our resident wildlife including birds, red squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs and the occasion rare glimpse of pine marten.  The garden has outdoor furniture and BBQs are available on request from Reception.

Car parking is in the large gravelled area at the North end of the building.

Cottage Membership Options

Permanent Membership

  • Our most cost effective option offering the best saving against the cost of renting the same cottage each year.
  • You will own your week in perpetuity but will have the option to exit after 25 years.
  • The property is heritable so may be passed on to children as part of your estate or resold by The Melfort Club.
  • Permanent members will receive a share of any residual value if the club is ever sold.

10 Year Membership

  • Watch the family grow up with an annual holiday to Melfort Village, perfect for young parents or grandparents.
  • After 10 years, you can choose to move to a smaller or larger property, choose a different week, or walk away with no ties.
  • Retirees can make the most of their active years without being tied into a lifetime contract.
  • Friends & family can use your week if you can’t come for any reason.
  • After permanent membership, our 10 year membership is the 2nd most cost effective option.

5 Year Membership

  • Try our Holiday Ownership to see if it’s for you with this low cost option.
  • Guarantee a specific property for 5 years and then change to another cottage or time of year as your family size or demands change.
  • Perfect option for new retirees looking for a way to secure a relaxing annual break without committing to a long term option.
  • You can exit membership after 5 years with no ties, renew or opt for one of our other holiday ownership options.
  • Get to know the area before deciding to re-purchase or move on to another location.
